Villa Technologies!
Ok!!! today while i was at Naaring(the place where they sell those Fujitsu stuff now) to have a look at some notebooks.While i was there i came across these desktop pc's which read "Villa Technologies" and i was like ...whats dat! it was a bit odd for me so i asked the sales lady there what this was all about and she only said this shop was a Villa shop and nothing more. So i assumed that like Villa Travels, Villa Shipping etc, the new Villa branch is Villa Technologies.........for a second i thought this pc was built on Villa Technologies :D ........ although it kinda makes sence, it's still odd to have VILLA TECHNOLOGIES printed on the CPU casing
who knows.. maybe next time if i go to buy a Pentium processor, i might come across "INTEL - VILLA INSIDE"

Well, yes...it is quite odd to find that name on the CPU...
I think the OS inside is powered by Gasim.
We were attending a session to get info on a web design project for a government's sports association. It was raining heavily and our names were noted. The person giving us information said Villa Foundation phoned and said they could not arrive because of the rain. So he said, in addition to those present, only Villa Foundation could submit the proposals. Villa Technologies and Naaring is OK by me, and so is a chip powered by Gasim. But to think that the philanthropy arm of this corporate giant is competing with us for web design projects. Then again there are chilli and vegetables grown in Sun Island and Paradise Island to be sold at various markets.

but personally, i have no problem if villa under the name of "villa technologies" or whatsoever is competing for a web designing project or even for a project to design a birthday card, villa is just broadening their horizons to enter into the IT and MEDIA industry of Maldives. Villa is about to launch their own Television Channel (More on this coming up very soon !!), so why not they compete for a website. It's not Gasim who is going to do the website, but some employees who are making a living by doing those projects, so lets be fair to them.
you digitalsquid guys are jeloues nothing else......... whats the big deal if they put VILLA TECNOLOGIES in there products.... they have money have there own resorces so why not... they can and i am proud of them..

Gasim is not a teacher but he helps people educate...Gasim is not a doctor but he provides medical assistance for people...Gasim is not an ecomonist but he is out finance minister too... Computer companies like dell, IBM, HP and other known brands put their label on products and give their name to be used on others products too.
Out of all its a free world. If your webdesigning is better people will surely take your services.
Think positive. Maybe some people like you can have some experience on webdesining at Villa and once they are sure of their ability they can have their own design companies... That is also helping our people. Dont be upset. Its normal in our world. Look at Srilanka. Cylinco Group is is doing what every srilankan does.

yes exactly! If poeple are complaining that Gasim or Villa is running into all territories, why should we!! simple fact is "everyone would want to get more money" would'nt they? Also rationally thinking, this infact is creating more jobs and more career opportunities for maldivians.

i am pretty sure that villa foundation will not participate in any bids. It must be mistake by the offical intending to say villa technologies. As far as i know villa foundation does not have the mendate to carry on commercial projects
Some dumb idiot seems to think that just because HP, DELL and certain other companies can put in their names on the CPU cases it gives the right for Villa to do the same. Hehehe :) Like I said, some dumb idiot. Ever stop to think what kind of work goes inside these companies that bring out these computers? Is Villa doing anything even close to what they are doing?
Gasim is an idiot not fit to be the Finance Minister, much less run a financial empire, the like of what he owns today.

Other one if u take a good look around... u'd see branding on generic goods everywhere.. granted HP, Dell and IBM are big companies with products, policies, standards and service which sets them apart from the rest .. but face it.. ppl do it all the time..

Sorry Fatty, but I will have to disagree that it is right for just anyone to put in misleading labels such as "Villa Technologies" when they don’t have an ounce of knowledge on such things as computer, CPU, motherboard manufacturing technology.
And I take it you are the typical Maldivian who just accepts at face value that its OK to do things as "ppl do it all the time" - such as no respect for intellectual property, software, music, DVD, etc.
One more thing ... what fun is a forum when you cant bash people :) Gasim holds public office NOW (whereby he is a servant to us) - so we have every right to bash him. And if you are a moderator of this blog and censor comments such as this, do let me know in advance so I can stop wasting time visiting the blog.
Far as I'm concerned expressing my opinion is not people bashing or an attack ... it's free speech. Censorship is more of an attack than my musings will ever be (which is the norm with a lot of website moderators)

i have read a lot of stuff being said about VIlla Technologies and as an employ of Villa Technologies i would like to make one thing very clear.
All the systems which are showcased in Naaringu have VIlla Technologies printed on the CPU's. It's not because it was devloped by us or anything. It's just an advertisement, and i can assure that "NO" Pc sold there will have Villa Technoliges on it. Only the products showcased have that. So just wanted to make it clear to you guys.
